Electricity prices may drop by Rs12 per unit

Electricity prices likely to drop by RS12 per unit in Pakistan. Federal Minister for Energy, Awais Leghari, announced in a press conference. He further added, electricity likely to drop by Rs10 to Rs12 per unit. This is due to ongoing discussions with the IMF and Independent Power Producers (IPPs). The talks have already saved the country Rs1,100 billion, allowing for lower electricity tariffs for consumers.

Leghari also discussed and emphasized the need to lower K-Electric’s multi-year tariff. Federal Minister for Energy, government is making efforts to stop electricity theft in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

Furthermore, Nepra recently decided to lower tariffs for Distribution Companies (DISCOs) and K-Electric by much to 75 paisa per unit, which would take effect in January 2025.

Government is taking necessary actions to provide facility to consumer in best possible way. Federal minister for energy also added government is taking strict action to stop electricity theft. Further he added this action will definitely help government to reduce electricity prices in future too. Which will definitely benefit for consumers.
