Air Defense Pakistan: India Responds After Losing Fighter Jets
ISPR stated that India launched the drone attack in response to Pakistan’s successful operations on May 6 and 7. During those operations, Pakistan downed five Indian fighter jets and destroyed multiple enemy posts along the Line of Control.
ISPR called India’s actions desperate and panicked. The military recovered debris from the drones across several areas.
Drone Attacks Cause Casualties
One drone partially struck a military site near Lahore. The explosion slightly damaged equipment. Four Pakistan Army personnel sustained injuries. In Miano, Sindh, one civilian lost their life due to another drone.
ISPR assured the public that the armed forces remain on full alert and continue defending Pakistan’s airspace and sovereignty.
India’s Military Moves Endanger Peace
DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif emphasized that India continues following a dangerous military path. He stated that India’s aggression threatens both regional and global peace.
The drone incident followed an Indian missile attack that killed 31 civilians and injured 57 in Pakistan. India claimed retaliation for an April 22 event that killed 26 tourists.
Pakistan, India Begin Emergency Talks
In response to escalating tensions, Pakistan’s NSA Lt Gen Asim Malik spoke with India’s NSA Ajit Doval. Officials confirmed the contact and described it as part of de-escalation efforts.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio also contacted both sides shortly after the drone and missile strikes. Diplomatic sources believe international pressure helped initiate these talks.
