Israel Deadly Attacks On Lebanon: 558 Civilians Killed

Israel has launched its deadliest and most vicious air attacks on Lebanon during the last 18 years, killing 558 civilians including 50 kids. The continuous airstrikes slammed civilian settlements, leaving vast destruction and fear.
Human Casualty of Israeli Airstrikes
So far, Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported 558 deaths, of whom 94 are women, while over 1,800 people are injured. Lebanon’s economic and emotional stability is at stake; with families weeping over their relatives, which on the other hand will be weakened by the massive destruction to the houses and living environments.
Israeli military officials say that over 1,600 airstrikes have been conducted in Lebanon. It’s not in sight, at least yet, that this Hezbollah point will end any time soon. Its defense forces recently said they have killed a prominent Hezbollah figure, known as Talal Hamieh, during one of these air raids.
Mass Displacement and Cross-Border Refugees
Hundreds of Lebanese civilians have already crossed the border into Syria as Israeli bombardment has escalated. In one case, Israeli aircraft went about disseminating leaflets in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon containing instructions on how to avoid the bombings, but Hezbollah called on its citizens to disobey them as a ploy by Israel.
In response to Israeli aggression, Hezbollah launched 200 rockets, targeting several locations inside Israel, escalating the conflict further.
International Effect and Reaction
This current conflict has affected international travels as most airlines, including U.S. and China airlines, have canceled their flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv. The U.S. State Department has asked all its citizens to evacuate Lebanon as tensions rise.
While violence in the Middle East continues to rise, so do, as announced today by the Pentagon, the number of additional U.S. troops being deployed to that region. Tensions over the intensifying Israel-Lebanon conflict continue to mount.
Regional Tensions and Global Concerns
A worrisome development is that Iraqi resistance groups have jumped into the fray, attacking Israeli objectives in the Golan Heights. As if the entire region was not already destabilized enough, the multi-front war continues with Israel pounding Lebanon and Hezbollah retaliating in kind.
The current war already keeps the region in a state of fragile instability: it is watched with bated breath by all nations. With every other death and incision of mutual distrust, the imperative for diplomatic intervention rises ever louder.
