PM Shehbaz Sharif stated that, despite continued political issues, Pakistan has achieved economic stability and met its financial objectives. Speaking to the federal cabinet, he complimented the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for meeting 97% of its December tax target, as promised to the International Monetary Fund.

PM Shehbaz Sharif emphasized efforts in digitizing Karachi Port, which is being backed by a $6 million grant. This action increased the port’s efficiency and transparency, resulting in smoother operations.

He also noted the government’s efforts to combat smuggling, the PM stated that efforts by federal institutions and the military had effectively curbed the illicit flow of sugar and petroleum across borders, enabling the country to export surplus sugar. “This success is a testament to coordinated governance,” he added.particularly in sugar and petroleum.
