Saif Ali Khan stabbing case, Mumbai Police revealed that only one out of 20 fingerprint samples collected from the actor’s Bandra residence matches the accused, Shariful Islam.

According to the chargesheet submitted to the Metropolitan Magistrate Court, the only matching print was found on the building’s eighth floor. However, prints from key areas like the bathroom door, sliding bedroom door, and a cupboard did not match.

Even with limited fingerprint evidence, officials say this does not weaken their case. In India, fingerprint matches alone are not conclusive proof, especially on household surfaces touched by many.

Moreover, officers added that getting clean, usable prints from such places is rare. They estimate the odds at only one in a thousand.

Knife Fragments Strengthen Case

Despite the fingerprint doubts, forensic findings in the Saif Ali Khan stabbing are strong. Investigators recovered knife pieces from Khan’s body and the crime scene. These matched the weapon found with Shariful Islam.

Police stated that “the knife fragments recovered from the body, the scene, and the accused were all part of the same knife.”

Financial Trail Deepens Suspicion

The Saif Ali Khan stabbing case also revealed financial misconduct. Authorities claim the accused, a suspected Bangladeshi national, transferred money from India through informal means. Funds allegedly reached his brother-in-law via a Bangalore account.

Saif Ali Khan Hospitalised After Attack

The stabbing happened on January 16 during an attempted robbery. Shariful Islam allegedly broke into the actor’s flat, injured a staff member, and then attacked Khan. The actor suffered multiple stab wounds, including to his thoracic spine.

He was treated at Lilavati Hospital and discharged after five days.

Soha Ali Khan Speaks Out

Saif’s sister, Soha Ali Khan, addressed public reactions to her brother’s recovery. In a recent interview, she expressed anger over baseless online comments.

“When people don’t know the facts, where do these opinions come from?” she asked. “If it doesn’t affect them personally, why are they so invested?”
